Growth Mindset: “If it’s to be, it’s up to me!”
Every successful person in any area of life and work has a growth mindset, meaning they focus on progress not perfection.
They understand that to get to the next level, they have to work for it and sometimes it’s hard, but it is worth it.
Success is the result of hard work focused in the direction you want to go.
While others are complaining, we’re climbing towards our goals.
We have to understand that anything worth achieving will not be easy, but as martial artists, we’re up for the challenge.

WARMUPS

Teach Ridge Hand (in mirror and on partner)
Skip-Sidekick (10 each side from movement with Penetrate, Kick, Clear, Change Alignment.
Back Kick (10 each side)
Required Combo 1: 1-Block 2-3 Switch Knee (In mirror and with partner)
Required Combo 2: 2-Block 1–2–3 Round Kick (In mirror and with partner)
DRILLS
Each partner will do 3 one-minute rounds. You choose if they are consecutive (my preference) or alternating each round.

Last class, we discussed that if you want success in any area of life, you have to work for it and sometimes it’s hard, but it is worth it.
If others quit, we keep going because we know that pain is part of the training and it’s also part of success.
1. If you want to be a good student, sometimes you will be studying while others are playing.
2. If you want to get strong, it will require that you exercise, even when you don’t feel like it. While everyone else is eating ice cream, you’re eating fruit to stay healthy.
3. If you want to become a black belt, you do not miss class and when there is no class, you practice.
That is how you take a growth mindset and apply it for success in your life.
