How to Turn Obstacles into Opportunities 1
In order to become the best martial artist, you must face opponents who challenge you physically and mentally. Do you get upset about that? No, you embrace it! Because it’s through these challenges that you learn new techniques, improve your skills, and develop the strength to overcome even tougher opponents. So, the obstacle – your opponent – is actually the way to success.
WARMUPS
SKILLS
Knife Hand (in mirror and on partner)
Ridge Hand (in mirror and on partner)
Skip-Sidekick (10 each side from movement with Penetrate, Kick, Clear, Change Alignment.
Back Kick (10 each side)
Required Combo 1: 1-Block 2-3 Switch Knee (In mirror and with partner. Partner attacks with rear leg round kick to head)
Required Combo 2: 2-Block 1–2–3 Round Kick (In mirror and with partner. Partner attacks with skip front leg round kick to head)
DRILLS
Each partner will do 3 one-minute rounds. You choose if they are consecutive (my preference) or alternating each round.

Our opponents challenge us physically and mentally. Do they make us angry? No, they excite us! Because it’s through these challenges that our skills as martial artists improve. In this way, the obstacle – our opponent – is actually the way to becoming better.
Option: You can run them through an Evaluation for the entire class or the second half.
Required combos.
Kicks.
Strikes (Knifehand, ridgehand, hammerfist, spearhand etc..)
Review and evaluate the drills completed in this module.
